Ya nauchu tebya (I'll Teach You) was initially chosen to represent Belarus at the Eurovision Song Contest 2021 performed by the group Galasy ZMesta. It was supposed to be performed during the first semi-final.
On 11 March 2021, the EBU rejected the song on the grounds that it violated the rule against making political statements. The Belarusian broadcaster was advised to submit a revised version of the intended entry or an entirely different song, or face disqualification from the 2021 contest. To aid with the process of finding a new song, the EBU granted BTRC a deadline extension until the end of March 2021.
On 26 March 2021, the EBU announced in a statement that the entry submitted to replace the original one, "Pensyu pro zaytsa" (Song About Hares), was also rejected by the EBU on the grounds that its lyrics would potentially put the contest into disrepute. As a result, Belarus was disqualified from participating in the 2021 contest.
