The Winner's Curse is another of the Eurovision Song Contest's known "curses". When a first-time winner is chosen to participate at Eurovision for at least a second time, it is often said that person does not equal its original status, only to end up with a worse placing.
The only people as of 2023 seemingly immune to this curse are Johnny Logan, who won with What's Another Year in 1980 and won again in 1987 with Hold Me Now, and Loreen, who won with Euphoria in 2012 and won again in 2023 with Tattoo.

- Lys Assia and Elisabeth Andreassen are the only artists who participated 2 more times after their first win. While neither won on their subsequent attempts, they both fared better on their 3rd attempt than on their 2nd, both finishing in 2nd place.
