When Spirits Are Calling My Name was the Swedish entry at the Eurovision Song Contest 2000 in Stockholm performed by Roger Pontare, who made his second appearance in the contest after a 13th-place finish in 1994. The song is about indigenous people fighting for their land, and to illustrate the song's theme, Roger was joined onstage for his performance by a Cree-Indian pow-wow dancer, a Norwegian Sami and a Thule Eskimo.
On the night it was performed 18th following Croatia and preceding FYR Macedonia. At the close of voting it finished in 7th place with 88 points, a much better placing for a Swedish entry on home ground since their poor showing in Malmo only 8 years prior.
