Verão (translation: Summer) was the Portuguese entry at teh Eurovision Song Contest 1968 in London performed by Carlos Mendes in the first of his two appearances.
The song in the chanson style, popular in the early years of the Contest. Mendes sings about his feelings at the end of a summer, which he describes as "a dream that ended" but seems unwilling to discuss further. He adds, however, that summer will always return, a thought which seems to cheer him.
It was performed first on the night preceding the Netherlands. At the close of voting, it finished in 11th place with 5 points.
