VAL is a Belarusian pop duo consisting of singer Valeria "Lera" Gribusova and multi-instrumentalist Vlad Paskevich. Both members graduated from the Belarusian State University of Arts.
Lera participated in the 2015 edition of Slavianski Bazaar, finishing as runner-up to Kazakh superstar Dimash Kudaibergen. Vlad is one half of the producer duo ToneTwins and was a backing singer for 2017 Eurovision representatives NAVIBAND during the Belarusian national final that year.
The duo was to have represented Belarus at the Eurovision Song Contest 2020 in Rotterdam with the song Da vidna prior to its cancellation. They had interest in returning in 2021, however BTRC denied their participation, saying the duo had "no conscience" due to their opposition to the current political regime in the country.
Lera and Vlad got married on 1 April 2021.
