V.I.P was a Hungarian boy band from Budapest that was active from 1997 to 2001. The quartet went on to the Eurovision Song Contest 1997 in Dublin, with the song Miért kell, hogy elmenj?, where they scored a modest 12th place with just 39 points, tying with Greece.

Past member Gergő Rácz went on to co-compose the entry for Hungary in 2008 for Czésy with Candlelight, staying in the semi-final in the last place. He also composed the song What About My Dreams? by Kati Wolf, which participated in the 2011 Eurovision Song Contest.

Viktor Rakonczai was the chairperson for the Hungarian jury in the 2016 contest in Stockholm.
