The Swarbriggs are an Irish duo consisting of brothers Tommy and Jimmy Swarbrigg, who rose to fame in their homeland during the 1960s and 1970s. They formed The Times Showband with other backing musicians and by 1973 had their own television show on national broadcaster RTÉ before the band went their separate ways in 1975.

They twice represented their home country in the Contest: in 1975 and again in two years later as The Swarbriggs Plus Two.

In later years they had various business ventures, including promoting concerts in Ireland for various Irish and foreign artists, including Smokie, Leo Sayer, The (American) Drifters, Jack L, Wolfe Tones, and Richie Kavanagh.

Trivia[]

  • The brothers were attributed as the inspiration for the 'My Lovely Horse' music video in the "A Song For Europe" episode of the second season of the Channel 4 sitcom Father Ted, which became one of the series' most popular episodes.
