The Jet Set was a Polish duo consisting English-born David Junior Serame and Russian-born Sasha Strunin, creating pop music. The band was formed back in 2005.
Career[]
The band was created in 2005 from the initiative of a Polish music producer, Sławomir Sokołowski. Tray Shipp was initially the rapper in the group, but a year later he was replaced by David.
In 2006, they released their debut single "How Many People", which was one of the 15 songs qualified for the final of the Polish preselections. They finished third with it in the selection final.
The Jet Set represented Poland in the Eurovision Song Contest 2007 in Helsinki after winning the national selection on February 3 with their song Time to Party. They placed 14th in the semi-final with 75 points, losing the chance to participate in the Grand Final.
During rehearsals for the competition, journalists described the performance as "straight out of the Moulin Rouge", while the Polish media considered the duo's semi-final performance as "nervous", "stiff", and the performance itself was assessed as "coarse". The Polish public did not receive the performance well.
After participating in the Eurovision Song Contest, they continued to perform around the country and collected several more awards, including: a Superjedynka and an Eska Music Award. In 2009 the group split up and Strunin started her solo career.
