Terminal 3 was the Irish entry at the Eurovision Song Contest 1984 performed by Linda Martin and written by 1980 (and later 1987) winner Johnny Logan. The mid-tempo song talks about a woman who is waiting for her lover to return from a flight from the United States with the hopes that his feelings for her have not changed as hers hasn't for him. Logan wrote the song in Terminal 3 of Heathrow Airport in London while waiting for a flight that had been delayed, thus the lyric "Terminal 3, flight's on time".
In the contest, the song was performed ninth on the night following Belgium and preceding Denmark. At the close of voting, it finished second with 137 points in a close-fought race with the eventual winners from Sweden.
