Sunlight was the Irish entry at the Eurovision Song Contest 2016 in Stockholm performed by Nicky Byrne. It was co-written by him along with Ronan Hardiman, who is best known for writing the music for the show Lord of the Dance.
It was performed 7th in the second semifinal following Serbia and preceding Macedonia. At the close of voting, it finished in 15th place with 46 points, meaning that the country had failed to qualify for the final for the third consecutive year.
