Sudden Lights is a Latvian alternative rock band formed in 2012. They released their first album in 2017 containing a mix of English and Latvian songs.
The group had attempted to represent their country at Eurovision before. In 2018, they participated in Supernova 2018 with the song "Just Fine", initially being eliminated in their semifinal heat but received one of the two wild card invitations for the final where they ultimately finished runner-up behind Laura Rizzotto.
They won Supernova on their second attempt and represented Latvia at the Eurovision Song Contest 2023 in Liverpool with the song Aijā, finishing in 11th place in the first semifinal missing out on qualification by just 3 points.
Andrejs Reinis Zitmanis was the Latvian spokesperson for the 2024 contest in Malmö.
