Stad i ljus was the Swedish entry at the Eurovision Song Contest 1988 in Dublin performed by Tommy Körberg, who previously represented the country in 1969.
It was performed second following Iceland and preceding Finland. At the close of voting, it finished in 12th place with 52 points.
The song lyrics can be interpreted spiritually, even if no direct references to Jesus or God exist. In May 2006, the Church of Sweden adopted the song for the "Psalmer i 2000-talet" hymnbook addition.[1]
