Sertab Erener is a Turkish singer and cross-over soprano. With an extensive vocal range, she is the most popular female artist in Turkey and is considered one of the divas of Turkish pop music. She released her first album in 1992 and nearly a dozen more followed.

She was selected internally to represent Turkey at the Eurovision Song Contest 2003 in Riga and was given free reign to select her own entry. Choosing the pop-fusion song Everyway That I Can, which she co-wrote, she went on to win the 2003 contest in one of the closest finishes ever with only 3 points separating her from third-place Russia. The song went on to become a massive hit, topping the charts in 3 countries and reaching the top 10 in 4 others.

In 2009, she formed a band called Painted on Water with the co-writer of her Eurovision winner and they released an album in the United States.

She returned in 2024 as part of the "World's Biggest Sing-Along" interval act during the second semifinal alongside Helena Paparizou and Charlotte Perrelli.
