 The Schmetterlinge were an Austrian band in the 70s and early 80s. They represented Austria in the Eurovision Song Contest 1977 with the song Boom Boom Boomerang and finished in 17th place.

The group's name translates to "Butterflies" in German.

At the time of the contest the group consisted of Beatrix Neundlinger, Dr. Kurt Ostbahn, Pippa Armstrong and Erich Meixner. Neundlinger previously represented Austria as part of the Milestones in 1972.

One of the band members, Dr. Kurt Ostbahn (now known as Willi Resetarits), passed away on 24 April 2022, aged 73.[1]
