Ryan O'Shaughnessy is an Irish singer, musician and former actor. He is the nephew of Gary O'Shaughnessy, who represented Ireland at Eurovision in 2001.
He is best known for participating in the first series of The Voice of Ireland as part of Brian Kennedy's team. He made it to the live shows, but was eliminated in the first week. A short time later, he participated in the sixth series of Britain's Got Talent, finishing in 5th place in the final. In 2013, he participated in the series The Hit against his former Voice coach and won the chart battle against him.
On 31 January 2018, it was announced by RTÉ that Ryan would represent Ireland at the Eurovision Song Contest 2018 in Lisbon with the song Together. He finished in 16th place in the final, Ireland's best result since 2011, snapping the country's 4-year non-qualification streak in the process.
He was the spokesperson for Ireland in the 2021 contest in Rotterdam.
