Romina Francesca Power is an American actress and singer.
The oldest daughter of actor Tyrone Power and Mexican actress Linda Christian, Romina developed an interest in music from American, Italian, and Mexican genres. The Beatles and Bob Dylan's music inspired her to compose her own, which she started when she received a guitar. At the same time, Romina began appearing in Italian movies.
Meanwhile, Romina met her future husband, Al Bano, while acting in the 1960s; they married in 1970. They released their debut single "Storia di due innamorati" to moderate success as they had their own solo careers simultaneously. In 1975, they released their first album together, Atto I. They were internally selected to represent Italy at the Eurovision Song Contest 1976 with the song We'll Live It All Again (lo rivivrei), which placed seventh. Afterwards, they released more French-language content.
Five years later, they released the single Sharazan, which became a major hit. This bred further success, such as having four different singles on the Italian charts simultaneously in 1982, and coming in second with the song Felicità at Sanremo. Continuing to release multiple bestselling albums, they won Sanremo 1984 with the song Ci sarà. They represented Italy again at the Eurovision Song Contest 1985 with the song Magic, oh, Magic, which also placed seventh.
Throughout the late eighties and early nineties, they continued to have success until their oldest daughter went missing in New Orleans in 1994. Despite some musical activity, they halted touring to find their daughter, with no success. They split up in 1999, and Romina went on to host the Italian version of Dancing with the Stars, along with showing off exhibitions of her paintings.
In spring 2007, Romina bought a house in Arizona, intending to leave Italy permanently and where she currently works full-time. After releasing her first solo album in decades in 2012, she reunited professionally with Al Bano in 2013 for a concert appearance in Moscow.
