Renato Micallef (full name: Nazzareno Alessandro Micallef Garrett) is a Maltese pop singer who has been active in his country's music scene since the age of 12. He is the brother of Helen, who performed Malta's second-ever entry in 1972.
He followed in his sister's footsteps and represented Malta at the Eurovision Song Contest 1975 in Stockholm performing under his first name of Renato with the song Singing This Song, the first time a Maltese entry had been performed in English. It finished in 12th place, and Renato received a hero's welcome back in Malta due to the fact the country didn't finish last for the third consecutive contest that they entered.
He still remains a popular local entertainer and has hosted his own TV and radio shows in the past.
