Red Hurley is an Irish singer. He began his career in 1969 and was a well-established figure on the national music scene before his appearance at Eurovision. In spite of his low finish in the Top 10, the song has continuously been included in setlists at his concerts.

He also attempted to represent his country again in 1979 alongside Tina Reynolds, who had appeared at the 1974 Contest, but they finished in last place in the national final.

Post-Contest, his commercial popularity dwindled with the emergence of the likes of U2 and Boyzone and he moved to the US. He had a major comeback in 2003 in both the US and Ireland and in 2010 celebrated 40 years in the music business.
