Paul Harrington & Charlie McGettigan are Irish singer-songwriters. At the time of their selection, they were the oldest act to represent their home country and ended up winning with the highest amount of points awarded at the time, giving the country its third consecutive win and sixth overall. However, that year's Contest is most remembered for introducing the world to Irish dance act Riverdance.
Paul Harrington returned to the Contest four years later in Birmingham as a back up singer for Dawn Martin, who performed Is Always Over Now?.
In 2005, Charlie McGettigan made an appearance at the Congratulations gala alongside former Eurovision participants Linda Martin, Eimear Quinn and Jakob Sveistrup. A decade later, he wrote a song for the Irish national final, which was performed by Kat Mahon and finished as runner-up to Playing With Numbers by Molly Sterling.
Charlie McGettigan was one of the five jurors for Ireland in the 2014 contest in Copenhagen, while Paul was the Irish spokesperson at the 2024 contest in Malmö.
