Paolo Meneguzzi is a Swiss-Italian singer. His career started to take off when he won the Viña del Mar International Song Festival in Chile in 1996 and he released his first album in 1997.
He also took part in the San Remo festival 4 times, the first being in 2001 in the Young Artists category and later participating in the Big Artists category in 2005, 2007 and 2008, finishing in the top 10 each time.
Paolo represented Switzerland at the Eurovision Song Contest 2008 in Belgrade with the song Era stupendo, missing out on the final after finishing 13th in his semi. Today he still remains a popular artist in Switzerland. He also helps to choose the Italian candidates for the Swiss national selection for Eurovision and has acted as a commentator for Italian-Swiss broadcaster RSI on numerous occasions.
