Oliver Alexander Thornton, known professionally as Olly Alexander, is an English singer and actor best known for being the lead singer of the group Years & Years and for portraying Ritchie Tozer in the Channel 4 series It's a Sin where he received massive critical acclaim.
He began his career in 2008 on the acting side, featuring in several films before becoming a founding member of Years & Years in 2010.
He was under consideration to represent the UK at the 2022 contest in Turin, an honor that eventually went to Sam Ryder.
On 16 December 2023, the BBC announced during the season finale of Strictly Come Dancing that Olly would represent the United Kingdom at the Eurovision Song Contest 2024 in Malmö. His song Dizzy finished in 18th place in the final.
