Stéphanie Morato, better known by her stage name Nina Morato, is a French singer-songwriter.
She started her career releasing songs under the names Stéphanie and Stéphanie de Malakoff before using Nina Morato to release the 1993 song "Maman". The album that followed Je suis la mieux, which was a critical success and won Morato the 1994 Victoires de la Musique prize in the category 'Best New Female Pop Artist of the Year'.
The next year, she was chosen to represent France at the Eurovision Song Contest 1994 with the song Je suis un vrai garçon, which garnered controversy due to the lyric "Je sais je suis son amour, mais putain, y'a des jours où c'est lourd", roughly translated as "I know I'm his love, but f*** it, there are days which are hard". Despite this, she finished in 7th place.
Afterwards, she released two more albums and has spent time touring and appearing in productions.
