Monaco debuted at the Eurovision Song Contest 1959 and have participated 24 times. They scored just one point on their debut and therefore, came in last.
Their first and only win so far was in 1971 with the song, Un banc, un arbre, une rue, performed by the French singer Séverine.
The country didn't participate from 1980 to 2003, but returned in 2004. They failed to qualify for the final three years in a row, resulting in an indefinite withdrawal from 2007.
Monaco's new channel, TVMonaco, launched on 1 September 2023, the official start of the 2024 Eurovision season. It did not confirm for 2024 citing the short turnaround time between the broadcaster's launch and the close of the confirmation window. On 12 April 2024, it was announced that TVMonaco was granted full EBU membership. It was announced that Monaco would not participate in 2025, making a return in as early as 2026 possible.
