Mia Nicolai is a Dutch singer and songwriter born in Amsterdam to Dutch and Russian parents. She started music and dance lessons at age 3 and has lived in Melbourne, London and New York City before settling in Los Angeles. She has since released 2 singles: her debut "Set Me Free" and the follow-up "Mutual Needs".
On 1 November 2022, it was announced by AVROTROS that Mia would be representing the Netherlands at the Eurovision Song Contest 2023 in Liverpool together with Dion Cooper performing the song Burning Daylight, the two were brought together by 2019 winner Duncan Laurence. The duo finished in 13th place in the first semifinal.
