Mary Roos (born Rosemarie Schwab) is a German singer and actress. She recorded her first song at the age of nine but it failed to find commercial success. She began her professional career in 1969 when she took part in the Grand Prix RTL International and her single "Das hat die Welt noch nicht erlebt" peaked in the Top 20 of the German charts. In 1970, she scored her first and only Top 10 hit with the song "Arizona Man".
She first attempted to represent her home country at the 1970 Contest when singer Edina Pop withdrew due to illness but she finished in joint second place. Two years later she finally won the chance to represent her home country and finished in 3rd place overall. The song became a hit in her homeland.
Three years later she made another Eurovision attempt and finished in third place. She took a break from participation until 1982 when she competed against her then-husband. She performed a duet with David Hanselmann and they finished in sixth place. However, the song was the second-biggest seller of the year.
Her fourth and final attempt again proved more successful but she finished in 13th place, which was blamed on a poor vocal performance. It was also her last appearance on the German charts until 1999 when she released a German cover version of Cher's "Believe". Her last album release was in 2007.
She was the chairperson of the German jury in the 2018 contest in Lisbon.
