Marija Šerifović is a Serbian singer who represented Serbia in the Eurovision Song Contest 2007 in Helsinki, winning with the song Molitva.
Šerifović won the Beovizija in 2007 (Serbia's preselection show) with the song "Molitva", winning both the jury and televoting, and was selected to be the debuting entry of the now-independent Serbia in the 2007 Contest in Helsinki, Finland.
She was also one of the judges on Eurosong to choose the Irish entry for Eurovision Song Contest 2008 and sang her winning entry to close the show. She was also a member of the International Jury in Melodifestivalen 2009, the selection for the Swedish entry to Eurovision Song Contest 2009. Also, she took part in the second semifinal interval act at the 2012 contest in Baku alongside fellow winners Dima Bilan, Alexander Rybak, Lena and Ell & Nikki.
Her song, "Molitva" was recorded in English as "Destiny", in Russian as "Molitva" and in Finnish as "Rukoilen".
In 2013, she came out as lesbian.[1]
