Maribelle is a the stage name of Dutch singer Marie Kwakman. A two-time participant in the national finals to represent her home country at the Contest, she finally won the chance to do so at the 1984 Contest in Luxembourg City, Luxembourg but finished in a lowly 13th place. She attracted much attention for the unflattering dress she appeared onstage in.
She continues to record with several singles on the Dutch chart, most recently having a Top 40 hit in 2009.
