Lake Malawi is a Czech indie-pop band formed in 2013, their name inspired by the song "Calgary" by the group Bon Iver. They released their first single "Always June" in 2014 and have played in many festivals in their native country as well as in the United Kingdom. They released their first album "Surrounded by Light" in 2017.

They represented the Czech Republic at the Eurovision Song Contest 2019 in Tel Aviv with the song Friend of a Friend. They finished in 11th place in the grand final.

Albert took part in Szansa na Sukces, the Polish selection for Eurovision 2020. He finished in second place with a solo rendition of the group's most recent song "Lucy", inspired by 2019 co-presenter Lucy Ayoub. The song's video won the Los Angeles Film Award in the United States for Best Music Video.

Antonín Hrabal left the group in 2021.

Albert was also one of the Czech commentators for the 2021 contest.
