Katerina Garbi, better known as Katy or Keti Garbi, is a Greek singer who has a stellar career throughout Greece and Cyprus, particularly in the 1990s.
She started out singing with her sister, Liana, when the former was 15 and the latter 13. Eventually, however, she broke away from singing with her sister, releasing her first solo song, "Sain Trope" to some success. After appearing on some complication albums, she released her debut album, Prova, in 1989. Between 1990 and 1993, she would release three more albums to much success.
Garbi represented Greece in the Eurovision Song Contest 1993 with the song Ellada, Chora Tou Fotos. The performance was notable for a highly-cut blue dress and the camera focusing on her for forty seconds straight. She ended up placing ninth with 64 points.
Nevertheless, this accelerated a successful singing career, with two multi-platinum albums following it and becoming some of the highest selling albums of the decade. In 2000, she released the album To Kati, which garnered further success. In 2010, she was named the 8th most certified female Greek artist since the 1960s.
