Katrien Verbeeck, best known professionally as Kate Ryan, is a Belgian singer and songwriter. Despite starting her music career at 21, she quickly became one of Belgium's most popular artists with a string of dance hits including a cover of the song "Ella, elle l'a" by 1965 Eurovision winner France Gall. In 2008, she won a prestigious World Music Award.
She represented Belgium at the Eurovision Song Contest 2006 in Athens with the song Je t'adore. Despite being a hotly-tipped favorite, she was unable to qualify for the final, finishing 12th in the semifinal.
She was one of the five jurors for Belgium in the 2021 contest in Rotterdam.
