Jessica Mauboy is an Australian singer, songwriter and actress. She first rose to fame in 2006 when she participated in the fourth season of Australian Idol, finishing runner-up to eventual winner Damien Leith. After a brief stint as a member of the girl group Young Divas, she released her first studio album "Been Waiting", which earned double platinum status.
As an actress, she received critical acclaim for her role in the 2012 semi-biographical film The Sapphires. Other credits include the 2010 film Bran Nue Dae and the 2016 TV drama The Secret Daughter.
In 2014, Jessica was invited to participate in the second semifinal interval act at the Eurovision Song Contest 2014 in Copenhagen as a token of appreciation for Australia's loyalty to the event. She performed the song "Sea of Flags".
On 11 December 2017, it was announced by SBS that Jessica would represent Australia at the Eurovision Song Contest 2018 in Lisbon, bringing her Eurovision experience full circle, with the song We Got Love. She finished in 20th place in the final.
