Johannes Pietsch, known professionally by his stage name JJ, is an Austrian singer of Filipino descent. He studied classical music at the Music and Art Private University of Vienna and is a member of the Vienna State Opera company.
In 2020, he participated in the 9th series of The Voice UK where he was eliminated in the Knockouts. A year later, he reached the final of the 5th season of the Austrian talent competition Starmania.
On 30 January 2025, ORF announced that JJ would represent Austria at the Eurovision Song Contest 2025 in Basel with the song Wasted Love. He won the competition, giving Austria its 3rd win overall and first since 2014.
JJ has a boyfriend, but has not labeled his LGBTQ+ identity and identified as queer, an umbrella term.
