Jüri Pootsmann is an Estonian singer. In 2015, he won the fifth season of Eesti otsib superstaari, the Estonian version of the Idol franchise.
He represented Estonia at the Eurovision Song Contest 2016 in Stockholm with the song Play, written by his predecessor Stig Rästa. He failed to qualify for the final.
He was the spokesperson for Estonia at the 2017 contest.
He participated in Eesti Laul 2021 with the song "Magus Melanhoolia", finishing in 3rd place. He would later return for the following edition, as a presenter for the fourth quarter-final, and an interval act for the final.
