It's My Time was the United Kingdom entry at the Eurovision Song Contest 2009 in Moscow performed by Jade Ewen. Especially composed for the occasion by legendary composer Andrew Lloyd Webber and American lyricist Diane Warren, the anthemic ballad was introduced during the final round of the UK selection series Your Country Needs You.
Jade embarked on a cross-continental promotion tour, the first of its kind for the UK at the contest, which included distributing free copies of the song in OK! Magazine in Russia.
As a Big Four nation, the United Kingdom was already pre-qualified. In the grand final, the song was performed 23rd following Romania and preceding Finland. At the close of voting, the song finished in 5th place with 173 points - the best finish for the UK since 2002, and its third-best finish in the 21st century as of 2022.
In the split-vote results, the juries ranked it 3rd while the televoters ranked it 10th.
Lyrics[]
I've been down, down so long
But those days are gone now
I've got the will, I've earned the right
To show you it's my time tonight
It's my time, it's my time
My moment, I'm not gonna let go of it
My time, it's my time
And I'll stand proud
There's nothing I'm afraid of
I'll show you what I'm made of
Show you all it's my time now
I'll break through, I've made my move
And my faith is strong now
I've got the heart to reach the heights
To show you it's my time tonight
It's my time, it's my time
My moment, I'm not gonna let go of it
My time, it's my time
And I'll stand proud
There's nothing I'm afraid of
I'll show you what I'm made of
Show you all it's my time now
I've got the will, I've earned the right
Tonight, tonight
It's my time, it's my time
My moment, I'm not gonna let go of it
My time, it's my time
And I'll stand proud
There's nothing I'm afraid of
I'll show you what I'm made of
Show you all it's my time now
I'll show you all it's my time now
