In My Dreams was the Norwegian entry at the Eurovision Song Contest 2005 in Kyiv performed by the band Wig Wam.
The song is a glam metal number, in keeping with the band's view that "rock'n'roll is the new schlager". Lead singer "Glam" wonders whether his relationship is "real or just a fantasy", and tells his lover that he is "Scared of waking up and you'll be gone/Face the truth and I'll be all alone", a fear that he puts to rest by suggesting that they should "get into the groove" and live for the moment.
It qualified from the semifinal in 6th place. In the final, it was performed 5th following Romania and preceding Turkey. At the close of voting, it finished in 8th place with 125 points, allowing the country to automatically qualify the following year.
Lyrics[]
Come on, come on, come on
Love is all over me (Over me)
I don’t know if this is what it seems
Is it real or just a fantasy?
Aim to please is all you every do
Making all my fairytales come true
Come on, come on, come on
Love is all over me (Over me)
You are the only one
Livin’ in my fantasy, in my dreams
Scared of waking up and you’ll be gone
Face the truth and I’ll be all alone
Baby, let’s get into the groove
Show me all your dirty moves
Come on, come on, come on
Love is all over me (Over me)
You are the only one
Livin’ in my fantasy, in my dreams
Come on, come on, come on
Love is all over me (Over me)
You are the only one
Livin’ in my fantasy, in my dreams
In my dreams
If this ain’t real, don’t wake me up
I don’t ever wanna stop
No, no
Come on, come on, come on
Love is all over me
You are the only one
Livin’ in my fantasy, in my dreams
Come on, come on, come on
Love is all over me
You are the only one
Livin’ in my fantasy, in my dreams
(Come on, come on, come on)
(Love is all over me) Ooh…
(You are the only one)
(Livin’ in my fantasy)
In my dreams
