It was performed 12th on the night following Croatia and preceding Hungary. At the close of voting, it finished in 4th place with 94 points.

- Marquesas Islands - a group of islands in French Polynesia.
- The songwriters, Didier Barbelivien and Francois Bernheim, were well known for writing some of Patricia Kaas' early hits. They originally wanted Nathalie to sing "On est tous en ile", before the record company suggested Il me donne rendez-vous instead.
- This was the last entry Michel Bernholc conducted for.
