Ich Troje is a popular Polish pop band formed in 1996 by Michał Wiśniewski and Jacek Łągwa. Over the years, they've been joined by different female singers, releasing 8 albums between 1996 and 2008.
They are a very influential polish band, changing Poland's music scene in the 2000s to a more rock sound.
Career[]
The band was created in 1995, immediately acclaiming success. Over the years, the band has sold over 4 million copies of their albums, the best one selling is Ad.4, which granted them superstar status in Poland.
They represented Poland at Eurovision on two occasions. Their first appearance was at the Eurovision Song Contest 2003 in Riga with the song Keine Grenzen-Żadnych granic, after winning the national final, with the runner-up being Wilki. The group finished in 7th place, becoming Poland's second best result ever.
Ich Troje wanted to represent Germany in Eurovision in that same year with the song "Liebe Macht Spaß", missing the superfinal by 2000 votes. The band's leader Michał Wiśniewski says they just wanted Poland to get 12 points from Germany from their appearance in their final and not actually compete under German flag.
They returned at the Eurovision Song Contest 2006 in Athens with the song Follow My Heart, joined by German Eurodance act Real McCoy (although they were not credited for the participation). They weren't so fortunate this time, finishing in 11th place in the semifinal and missing qualification by just 6 points, with 70 points.
The group has had multiple female singers during their career, most famously Magda Femme and Justyna Majkowska, who 2 months before the 2003 contest left the group citing fatigue from touring. That didn't stop her from representing Poland in Eurovision with the group, and after coming back from Eurovision, she left the group definitely.
Michał Wiśniewski was accused of tax fraud in the recent years, being sentenced to 1,5 years in jail in 2023.
