Hero was the Swedish entry at the Eurovision Song Contest 2008 in Belgrade, performed by Charlotte Perelli, who previously won the 1999 contest for the country.
Although it finished 12th in the second semifinal, it made it through to the final thanks to the back-up jury who voted for it over the Macedonian entry.
In the final, it was performed 15th following Latvia and preceding Denmark. At the close of voting, it finished in 18th place with 54 points.

- It was rumored the song was going to be sung by Måns Zelmerlöw, but Charlotte was first choice and was later selected. He would go on to win the 2015 contest for Sweden with the song Heroes.
