Eleni Paparizou, best known internationally as Helena Paparizou, is a Swedish-born Greek singer, songwriter and television personality. She represented Greece twice at Eurovision within a 4-year period.
Her first appearance was at the Eurovision Song Contest 2001 in Copenhagen as part of the duo Antique, hailed as "Greece's secret weapon" due to the fact that both Helena and her partner Nikos Panagiotidis were both Swedish-born. Their song Die for You was tipped to do well and they finished in third place overall, marking the first time Greece has hit a podium finish.
Four years later, she returned to the contest as a soloist at the Eurovision Song Contest 2005 in Kyiv with the song My Number One. She went on to win the contest with 230 points, giving Greece its very first win since their debut in 1974 - a wait of 31 years.
Helena also attempted to go to Eurovision a third time in 2014, but for Sweden with the song "Survivor". She ended up 4th at the 2014 Melodifestivalen behind eventual winner Sanna Nielsen. In addition, she was considered to represent Cyprus at the Eurovision Song Contest 2018 with the song Fuego. However, she turned it down, and Eleni Foureira took her place.
Today, along with releasing music, she is also one of four coaches on The Voice of Greece, along with fellow Eurovision alum Sakis Rouvas.
In 2024, she was part of the "World's Biggest Sing-Along" interval act during the second semifinal alongside Charlotte Perrelli and Sertab Erener, and was also the Greek spokesperson for the final.
