Grethe Ingmann (nee Clemmensen) was a Danish singer.
She started her career at the age of 17, when she temporarily performed as a singer of the Malihini Hawaiians pop quartet. Soon after she sang with the Danish guitarist Jørn Grauengaard and his trio.
In 1955, she met the guitarist Jørgen Ingmann, whom she married the next year. Together, they performed as the duet Grethe og Jørgen Ingmann. They represented Denmark at the Eurovision Song Contest 1963 with the song Dansevise and won with 43 points. This made them the first Scandinavian country to win Eurovision, along with the only male/female duo to win until 2011.
In 1965 She entered the German Schlager Contest with the song "Sommerwind". She already dropped out in the preliminaries; nevertheless, the English version of the song written by Johnny Mercer in 1966 and sung by Frank Sinatra became an international hit.
Grethe and Jørgen Ingmann continued their musical career until the couple divorced in 1975. As a solo singer, she again participated in several Danish preselections for the Eurovision Song Contest without success. On 18 August 1990, she died of cancer at age 52.
