Gemini was a Portuguese band formed in the 1970s.
They had previously attempted to represent Portugal at the 1977 contest with the eventual winning song Portugal no coração, however the audience preferred the group Os Amigos as the performers.
The following year, the group won the national selection and represented Portugal at the Eurovision Song Contest 1978 in Paris with the song Da li dou, finishing in 17th place.
Gemini has since broken up. Female members Teresa Miguel and Fátima Padinha went on to join the girl group Doce, which represented Portugal at the 1982 contest in Harrogate.
