Gåte is a Norwegian band first formed in 1999. Their style is defined by them as "progressive folk-rock", but they also infuse metal, electronica and Norwegian folk in their sound. The band's name is Norwegian for "riddle".
They released their first self-titled EP in 2000 and gained in popularity since. To date, they have released 5 EPs and 5 studio albums.
They represented Norway at the Eurovision Song Contest 2024 in Malmo with the song Ulveham, finishing in last place in the final.
