Francesca Michielin is an Italian singer and songwriter who is best known for being the winner of the fifth series of The X-Factor Italia in 2012, and her first single went double platinum in Italy.

After finishing second at the 2016 Sanremo Festival, she was chosen by RAI to represent Italy at the Eurovision Song Contest 2016 in Stockholm when the group Stadio, who won the festival, declined the invitation. She performed a bilingual version of her San Remo entry, No Degree of Separation, finishing in 16th place in the final.

In 2020, she voiced Poppy in the Italian dub of the Dreamworks film Trolls World Tour, taking over from Elisa Toffoli from the dub of the first film.

She returned to Sanremo in 2021 with rapper Fedez with the song "Chiamami per nome", finishing in 2nd place. A year later, she conducted Emma Marrone's entry.
