The Eurovision Song Contest 2026 will be the 70th annual edition and will be held in Austria following JJ's victory in Basel the previous year.

Following the completion of the bid submission process on 4 July 2025, Vienna and Innsbruck officially submitted bids while St. Pölten expressed interest and Graz, Klagenfurt and Salzburg declined. Ebreichsdorf, Linz (in a joint bid with Welz) and Oberwort withdrew their proposals. The host city, along with the official show dates, will be announced on 8 August 2025.

The semi-final allocation draw will be held on TBA January 2026 at __, and hosted by __ and __. The handover ceremony will take place before the draw begins, officially beginning the countdown to the contest.

Withdrawing/Uncertain

  • Andorra - RTVA confirmed on 26 May 2025 that Andorra would not return for 2026.
  • Belarus - BTRC remains suspended following their disqualification from the 2021 contest.
  • Bosnia and Herzegovina - Despite optimism from former Head of Delegation Lejla Babović, it was announced on 9 July 2025 that Bosnia & Herzegovina would not return for 2026 due to BHRT's ongoing financial troubles with the EBU.
  • Kazakhstan - Khabar Agency is currently in talks with the EBU about a potential debut ahead of the 70th edition of the contest. The Kazakh broadcaster has been an associate EBU member since 2016 and has participated in several past editions of JESC.
  • Russia - C1R and VGTRK remain suspended following Russia's 2022 invasion of Ukraine.
  • Slovenia - Following the conclusion of the 2025 contest, Slovenian broadcaster RTVSLO said they are considering a withdrawal from the contest unless solutions from the EBU regarding the voting system and Israel's participation are presented.

  • It is the second time that Austria has hosted a milestone edition of the contest, having previously hosted the 60th edition in Vienna back in 2015.
