Euphoria was the Swedish entry at the Eurovision Song Contest 2012 in Baku performed by Loreen after storming to victory at Melodifestivalen, the Swedish national selection contest. It is a song in the Eurodance genre with some slow parts and a high-energy chorus.
It qualified from the second semifinal in first place. In the final, it was performed 17th following Greece and preceding Turkey. At the close of voting, it was declared the winner with 372 points, giving Sweden its 5th victory. The entry received 18 sets of 12-point scores, which would be the record under the 2010-2015 scoring system.
After the contest, "Euphoria" became a massive hit around the continent, topping the charts in 19 countries and even peaking in the top 40 in Australia. In the United Kingdom, it debuted at #3, making it the highest-charting non-British Eurovision entry since Hold Me Now in 1987. Coincidentally, Johnny Logan did his own cover of "Euphoria" as an interval act during the first semifinal of the 2024 contest.
It has also won the annual ESC 250 countdown every year from 2012 until 2021, reclaiming the top spot in 2024.
