Born in Athens, she studied music and singing in the National Conservatory there. After singing in nightclubs and bars, she met with the young composer, Nikos Terzis, and they collaborated on several songs, some of which appeared on Elina's debut album, released in 1994.
They worked together again, this time with the song Pia Proseffhi, which was internally selected to be Greece's entry for the Eurovision Song Contest 1995 in Dublin. It placed 12th with 68 points.
