The ESCRadio Awards is an annual event hosted by ESC Radio which has been held since 2006. There was no awards handed out in 2010.
Format[]
The awards are usually held in the weeks following each year's contest, and voting is open for 8 days. Fans are invited to vote for their favorites in each of 3 categories:
- Best Song (best overall song of the year)
- Best Solo Artist (awarded to the best soloist)
- Best Group (awarded to the best group, includes duos and trios)
Votes are restricted to 3 per day to prevent ballot stuffing. At the end of the voting period, the votes are tallied and the act/song that receives the highest percentage in each category is the winner. Acts can win in a maximum of 2 categories, and the winners each receive a special trophy.
Despite the 2020 contest being cancelled, the awards were still held that year to honor the participants. Best Group went to The Roop from Lithuania (also winning Best Song for On Fire), Victoria from Bulgaria won Best Female Artist, and Gjon's Tears from Switzerland won Best Male Artist.
In 2024, the categories of Best Male Artist and Best Female Artist were merged to become the Best Solo Artist category. The winners of the former individual categories will still be archived here.
