Antonio Diodato, known mostly by his last name, is an Italian singer and songwriter. He shot to fame when he took part in the 2014 edition of the Sanremo Music Festival in the Newcomers section, finishing in second place with the song "Babilonia". Four years later, he competed in the Big Artists section with the song "Adesso", finishing 8th.
He has released 2 studio albums and has won multiple MTV Italian Music Awards for his work.
As winner of the 70th Sanremo Music Festival, Diodato was set to represent Italy at the Eurovision Song Contest 2020 in Rotterdam with his winning song Fai rumore. However, on 18 March 2020, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the contest was proclaimed "cancelled". His song became an anthem for the Italian people during their nationwide lockdown as the pandemic spread.
He was chosen to perform the interval act during the first semifinal of the 2022 contest in Turin.
