Dickie Rock was an Irish singer who began his career in the 1960s as one of lead singers of the Miami Showband. As a member, he scored thirteen Top 10 singles, including seven #1s. They were also the first Irish act to go straight in at #1 with their 1965 single "Every Step of the Way".

As a soloist, he represented his home country at the 1966 Contest in Luxembourg with the song Come Back to Stay, which finished in 4th place.

He had a career spanning more than 40 years. Following a third RTÉ documentary (one in the 1960s, another in the 1980s and another in 2006) about Rock and his place at the forefront of the Irish showband scene, Dickie received a lifetime achievement award in October 2009.

He passed away on 6 December 2024 at the age of 88.
