Diamond of Night was Estonian entry at the Eurovision Song Contest 1999 in Jerusalem performed by Evelin Samuel and Camille. This was the first entry from the country to be sung in English due to the rule changes.
The song is an ode to the moon, and on stage, the lyricist is a backing singer, and a harpist, Saale Kivimaaker, is also on stage. Evelin Samuel lost out on going to the 1998 Eurovision, and Kärmas, the lyricist for this song, included a very meaningful last line to the chorus, "Now I can say it is my time" in relation to this.
It was performed last on the night following Bosnia and Herzegovina, making it the last song performed in the 20th century and the millennium. At the close of voting, it finished in 6th place with 90 points.
